Wanderlust Photo – Fireworks in Perth on Australia Day

Happy Australia Day! Back home in Perth, everyone watches fireworks on Australia Day. If you’re watching from South Perth foreshore you get amazing views of the Perth skyline and the proximity of the exploding fireworks shakes the nearby apartment buildings. The reverberations are so loud you can feel it in your chest whilst you listen to the local radio’s skyshow soundtrack of true blue 100% Aussie songs.

I still, and will always, call Australia home.

St Mary’s Cathedral, Perth

St Mary’s Cathedral is the only Catholic cathedral in Perth. I recently celebrated Easter with my family here and it holds a lot of memories from my childhood.

Recently renovated, the Cathedral is beautiful, with its mix of old and new interiors. Back in the day, the Cathedral used to be dark and musty inside. It’s now completely opened up, with windows overlooking the grounds and Royal Perth Hospital across the road. The stained glass windows are captivating when illuminated by autumn sunlight.
